Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
It was at 6 in the morning, in a mountain village, three local girls were waiting dressed in their new colourful costumes. I do not know for what or whom they are waiting for. It was the mood created by the contrast between the beauty of their dresses and the humble simplicity of the surroundings that made me want to capture this moment on canvas. As I wanted the girls to stand out and shine, I kept the background details to a minimum with as few brush strokes as possible.

Mathilde, Thank you so much for your comment. Next time I will try to paint some girls with their faces towards you. So they would be more friendly. Do you think so? Good luck for your work too!

I love your paintings, NingNing. I get a strong feeling of the place through them. The flavour and the feelings you have evoked so well! It is like travelling through your eyes.

What a beautiful painting, Ningning. Love their colourful costumes and they do stand out from the remainder of the painting. There is an air of expectation and it makes me wonder what they were waiting for too. f/v ;-)
